Posted by hilda on September 28, 2017

Celebrate Oktoberfest on Wednesday, October 4th from 5-9 PM with a special Wurst & Bier pairing featuring beers from Occidental Brewing Company and Paulaner USA.

About the beers:

Occidental Festbier, 6.7% ABV, rich yet quaffable lager in the old tradition of Oktoberfest beers. German noble hops provide a delicate hop character to pair with a firm malt profile featuring Munich and Vienna malts.

Occidental Dunkel, 5.1% ABV, malty and smooth, balanced with an assortment of noble hops.

Occidental Kolsch, 4.5% ABV, crisp and dry, it is clean and lager-like, with a pleasant, slightly spicy hop profile supplied by German Perle. Very sessionable.

Paulaner Oktoberfest Marzen, 5.8% ABV, full bodied beer with rich malt flavor and dark toffee note, has an underlying fruitiness and masterful hop balance.

Paulaner Salvator Doppelbock, 7.9% ABV, head has a caramel hue and the beer is full bodied with a rich, warm chestnut brown color. The taste is unmistakable, with its smooth chocolate flavor, robust dark caramel maltiness and a light note of hops in the background – providing a nice intensity on the palate.’

Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest Marzen, 5.8% ABV, fruity notes of cassis and earthy tones reminiscent of cedar.

The Altengartz Bratwurst available only at Sheridan Fruit Co. is made by a pair of guys with a rich German heritage. The bratwurst will be simmered in each of the 6 beers for the pairing.

Cost: $15 for six 5 oz pours of each beer with sausage pairing

PLUS Stein Hoist competition at 7:30 PM with prices to the top 3 finishers. Be festive and come join the fun. Prost!
